William, who was born on January 5, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, courageously battled cancer with strength and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.
William was the beloved son of the late William and Loise Davis. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley Davis, with whom he shared many joyful years. Together, they created a nurturing and loving family environment.
He is survived by his adoring daughters: April Dennison, Shelly Ahlfinger, and Silena Carlisle, who were the lights of his life. His legacy extends to his nine treasured grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.
William was a self-taught craftsman, whose hands could transform the simplest materials into works of art. His love for the land was reflected in his years as a farmer, where he found solace and satisfaction in the rhythms of nature. His passion for building things was matched only by his dedication to his family and his community.
A proud veteran, William served honorably in the United States Army from 1970 until 1985, embodying the values of service, duty, and commitment. His military service was a testament to his character, which was marked by loyalty and courage.
William's zest for life was evident in his love for bingo and fishing, activities he often shared with friends and family. He was known for his vibrant personality, a beacon of positivity who was always the life of the party. His infectious smile and warm greetings were his trademark, leaving an indelible impression on everyone he met.
A celebration of William’s life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Batesville, Mississippi. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, a man whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cancer research organization of your choice, in hopes of finding a cure for the disease that took William from us too soon.
