William Earl Yarbrough Jr.
August 3, 1940 — June 16, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of William Earl Yarbrough Jr., affectionately known as Bill, on June 16, 2026. Bill departed this world at the age of 85, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a courageous battle with Congestive Heart Failure. His steadfast spirit and the love he inspired in those around him will be fondly remembered.
Born on August 3, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, Bill was the cherished son of William Earl Yarbrough Sr. and Lunette (Cowell) Yarbrough. From an early age, Bill exhibited a remarkable dedication to his family, values that would define his life in the years to come.
Bill bravely served his country as a Marine Corps airplane mechanic during the Vietnam War, a service that instilled in him a lasting sense of duty and patriotism. Following his military service, he transferred his mechanical expertise to a civilian career and worked with dedication and precision as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines for over 40 years. His colleagues remember him as a man of integrity and skill, with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
In Sapulpa, where he made his home, Bill was a respected member of the Masonic Lodge, embodying the principles of brotherhood and charity. Away from work, he was an avid gun collector and enjoyed frequent trips to the shooting range. His passion extended to restoring antique cars, a pastime that brought him immense joy and pride, much like the meticulous care he devoted to his beloved yard.
Bill’s heart was as expansive as his interests. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, his enthusiasm for the team matched only by his love for his family. In 1966, Bill married the love of his life, D'ann (Hess) Yarbrough, and together they built a beautiful life over 48 wonderful years. Though D'ann predeceased him, the legacy of their love endures in their children: son Jason Yarbrough and daughter Terri (Yarbrough) Herrera, as well as stepson Steven Turman and stepdaughter Rebekah DonCarlos. Bill was a proud grandfather to Daniel Yarbrough, Michael Yarbrough, Greg Turman, Michael Meisinger, Robert Meisinger, Kelly Turman, and Ashley (Meisinger) Brown, and a doting great-grandfather to Brantley Turman, Hudson Turman, Daxton Meisinger, Ryker Meisinger, and Paizley Meisinger.
Bill is also survived by daughter-in-law Joanna (Boulton) Yarbrough, stepdaughter-in-law Deborah (Muldin) Yarbrough, and stepson-in-law Billy DonCarlos. His extended family will forever cherish his memory and the love he generously shared.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife D'ann, his parents, sister Naomi (Yarbrough) Ritz, and brother-in-law John Ritz, along with numerous cousins who were dear to his heart.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bill’s life and honor his memory on June 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Dillon Funeral Services, located at 1200 N. Cleveland Ave., Sand Springs, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization close to Bill's heart.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we hold close the memories of his laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering love for those dear to him. William Earl Yarbrough Jr. leaves a lasting legacy of love, duty, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
