William Earl Brewington

January 26, 1953 — March 26, 2026

William Earl Brewington, lovingly known as "Bill" to those who cherished him, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on January 26, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, Bill brought warmth, wit, and wisdom to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bill was the cherished son of the late Billy Earl Brewington and Ludie Pearl Brewington (Winningham), who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and integrity. Raised in the heart of Tennessee, Bill carried the spirit of the South wherever he went, embodying hospitality and genuine care for others as second nature. A devoted father, Bill is survived by his beloved daughters, Alexandra Brewington-Clement and Samantha Ortiz, who, along with Samantha's husband Vicente, were the light of his life. He found immense joy and pride in the accomplishments and happiness of his daughters, and he was always their unwavering source of support and guidance. Bill's family was his greatest treasure. He shared a special bond with his brothers, Mike Brewington (Janie), Scott Brewington (Lorrie), Tim Brewington, Bobby Joe Carmikle, Didi Carmickle, and Homer Dawson. Together, they created a tapestry of love and memories that will forever be cherished by all who witnessed their camaraderie and love for one another. His heart was overflowed with love for his four grandchildren—Remington, Tatum, Teagan, and Carmen—each of whom held a unique and special place in his heart. Bill was the kind of grandfather who attended every recital, game, and event, cheering the loudest and offering the warmest hugs. His legacy of love, laughter, and life lessons will continue to live on through them. Bill was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Pat, whose memories he held dear and whose spirits he kept alive through stories and traditions. He also leaves behind his niece, Kaylynn Carmikle, and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his infectious laughter and generous spirit. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Marion. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring and remembering a life that was lived with grace, humor, and boundless love. In this time of sorrow, as we say goodbye to a remarkable man, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. Bill's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Bill, until we meet again.
