It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of William E. Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on June 16, 2026, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. William was born on November 29, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois, to Earnestine Waits and William E. Jones, Sr. William's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a commitment to family and community. Raised in Peoria, he attended the public school system before relocating to Indiana, where he embarked on a fulfilling career with Rolls Royce Automotive Company. For 19 years, his hands and heart contributed to the precision and innovation that the company is renowned for. His dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike. In 2020, William retired, facing his cancer diagnosis with the same quiet strength that defined him. His life was one of service and devotion, not only to his work but to his community. As a cherished member of Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, William found joy in fellowship and faith. His church family was deeply important to him, and he was a source of light and encouragement to many. William's personal joys were simple yet profound. He found immense pleasure in fishing and barbecuing, often sharing these passions with his grandsons, Kenneth and Toron Jr. His family was his greatest pride, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, Felicia Mcduffy and William E. Jones, Jr., and his grandchildren Taryn, Toron, Tionne, Ashley, and Ebony. His legacy of love extends to his great-grandchildren, who will grow up with stories of a grandfather who was both gentle and strong. William was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Earnestine Waits, his dear sister Doris Mcduffy, and leaves behind a legacy of love through his wife, Angie Jones, his children, grandchildren, and a host of other beloved family members. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor William's life and legacy, as per the family's wishes. In this time of reflection and remembrance, the family extends a heartfelt thank you to Greater Morning Star Baptist Church for their unwavering support and to Rolls Royce Automotive Company for their acknowledgment and care. William E. Jones was a man of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love. As we remember him, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, dedication, and devotion to those we hold dear. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire all who knew him.
