May 25, 1946 — June 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of William Classen Santiago, who departed this world peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by his cherished loved ones. Born on May 25, 1946, in Frankfurt, Germany, William's life was a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and lasting impact. William was the beloved son of the late Manuel Classen and Louisa Santiago. He embraced life's journey with unyielding spirit and a heart full of warmth, qualities that endeared him to everyone he encountered. His quick wit and ever-present smile were as much a part of him as his boundless generosity and the genuine kindness that touched the hearts of many. In 1972, William married the love of his life, Ana Luisa Serrano, in New York. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and enduring love. Over the years, William and Ana welcomed their children, Marlen Classen and William Classen, into the world, nurturing them with the same love and compassion that defined their own relationship. Though Ana and their son Orland Alberto predeceased him, their memories remained ever-present in his heart. William was a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His legacy of laughter and love will undoubtedly continue through them, as well as through every life he touched with his welcoming spirit and his penchant for lightening any mood with a well-timed joke. William's passing is preceded by his parents, Manuel and Louisa, his sister Elba, his son Orland Alberto, and his beloved wife, Ana. He leaves behind his beloved daughter Marlen, his son William, and his grandchildren, who will continue to celebrate his life and carry forward his remarkable legacy. A service to honor William's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Alianza Cristiana y Misionera Arecibo Pueblo, located at 251 Calle Cristobal Colón, Arecibo, PR 00612. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to share in the comfort of shared memories and love. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Hogar Jesús Emmanuel for their unwavering dedication and the compassionate care they provided. "Por siempre en nuestros corazones," William will be remembered for the joy he brought into our lives and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. In honoring William's memory, we invite you to remember him not with sorrow for his passing, but with joy for having been blessed by his presence. May his spirit continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and love in all our hearts.
