December 9, 1961 — March 30, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of William Charles Watts. Born on December 9, 1961, in Battle Creek, Michigan, William—known affectionately as Bill—left this world suddenly on March 30, 2026, while driving through the scenic landscapes of Wisconsin, doing what he loved most, on the open road. Bill was the beloved son of the late Charles Watts, Vonda Douglas and Step Mother Maxine Watts, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Robert Watts, and his sisters, Sandra Bowers and Elizabeth Gray, all of whom he shared a deep bond with, rooted in shared memories. He leaves behind a rich legacy through his cherished children: William Watts, Alicia Stephan (Jared), Samantha Heidman (Justin), Rachel Watts, and Matthew Watts (Amanda). His presence will forever be missed by his ten grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Kendall Sherer, Zoey Heidman, Lilly Heidman, Sadie Heidman, Mia Watts, James Heidman, Mackenzie Watts, Emily Stephan, Ben Watts, and Aaron Watts. In 1982, Bill married Tammy Taylor, with whom he welcomed two wonderful children, William and Alicia. Though they parted ways, the bonds of family remained strong. Later, in 1991, he found love again with Lisa Straka, and together they brought three more wonderful children into the world: Samantha, Rachel, and Matthew. Although their marriage eventually ended, Bill's love for his children was unwavering. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he aspired to be a pilot. Though fate had other plans, he took to the highways as a truck driver—a profession that allowed him to see the country he loved and afforded him the freedom he cherished. As the owner of his own trucking business, Bill exemplified the spirit of entrepreneurship and hard work. A man of varied interests, Bill was deeply passionate about history and often shared captivating stories with his children, igniting their imaginations and instilling in them a love of learning. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he found solace and strength in his relationship with the Lord. Bill's legacy is one of strength, perseverance, and love. He was a man who embraced life, whether on the road, surrounded by family, or in moments of quiet reflection. His indomitable spirit and the warmth of his laughter will be forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Bill will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, a trait that endeared him to his children and friends alike. His laughter was a joyful melody that resonated in the hearts of all who knew him. As his children lovingly recount, it is from him that they inherited the gift of humor, a legacy that will continue to brighten their days. As we bid farewell to Bill, we hold his memory close, comforted by the knowledge that he is now at peace, reunited with his beloved parents. His journey may have ended, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Bill. You are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
