William Charles "Bill" Shelley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Charles "Bill" Shelley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on September 2, 2026. Born in Flint, Michigan, on January 1, 1938, Bill was the cherished son of Marcus Eugene Shelley and Bessie Bell Wilfong. Bill's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service. A proud Marine veteran, he carried the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life, both in his personal and professional endeavors. His career at Ma-Bell as a Lead Manager was distinguished by his unwavering work ethic and integrity, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. A man of many talents and interests, Bill's creative spirit found expression in his love for stained glass, upholstery, and clockmaking. His passion for motorcycles and golf added an adventurous and playful dimension to his character, inspiring those around him to embrace life with enthusiasm and joy. Bill was predeceased by his son, Michael Shelley; brothers, Gary and Bob Shelley; and daughter-in-law, Mary Shelley. Despite these profound losses, Bill's heart remained full, nourished by the love of his surviving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Shelley, and his children, Doug (Carol) Shelley, Guy Shelley, and Janet Shelley. His legacy extends through his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. In keeping with the family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Bill's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to pay tribute to Bill's memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
