In Loving Memory

William "Buddy" Griffin
March 9, 1935 — September 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Buddy" Griffin, who peacefully departed this world on September 1, 2026, at his cherished home in Sheveport, Louisiana. Born on March 9, 1935, in Sheveport, Buddy was a beloved son to Elizabeth and Robert Griffin and spent a lifetime cultivating deep roots in the community he adored.
Buddy's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a commitment to family. Predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Cecil Griffin and Robert Griffin Jr., he leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
He is survived by his adored children: daughters Tammy Purdy and Marie Passman, and his son Jeffrey Griffin. Buddy was blessed with six grandchildren—Kayla Walters, Shelby Lumpkin, Dylan Griffin, Alisha Griffin, Sandy Passman, and Dylan Passman—and two great-grandchildren, Steven and Sarah Griffin, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his special friend, Sherri Thibodaux, whose companionship was a treasured gift.
A lifelong lover of nature, Buddy found peace and happiness in gardening and fishing, always accompanied by his loyal canine companions. His garden was a reflection of his patience and care, and his fishing trips were filled with stories and laughter that will be missed by all who shared in them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2026, at Sheveport Riverview Park, located at 601 Clyde Faint Parkway, Sheveport, LA 71101. The service will commence at 10:00 AM, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Buddy's memory, honoring his generous spirit and his love for helping others.
The Griffin family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone involved in the preparation of this Celebration of Life and for the prayers and love that have been offered. Your support means the world as we come together to honor Buddy's remarkable journey.
Buddy Griffin's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a profound connection to all living things. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
