William Brown

September 7, 1960 — May 13, 2026

William Brown, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted servant to both his nation and community, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the age of 65, due to complications from a brain aneurysm. Born on September 7, 1960, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, William was the cherished son of Lula and George Brown. He is now reunited with his parents and his brother, Timothy Brown, who predeceased him. William's life was a testament to service, resilience, and love. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1986 to 1990, where he earned the rank of Corporal. His time in the military instilled in him a profound sense of duty and commitment, traits that he carried into every aspect of his life. After his service, William embarked on a career that allowed him to touch many lives, though it was his work with the First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church that truly defined him. For 35 years, William was an active and dedicated member of the church community. His faith was his guiding star, and for 22 of those years, he served as a Deacon, providing spiritual guidance, support, and love to all who crossed his path. His deep voice, warm smile, and gentle spirit were constants in the lives of the congregation, and his presence will be sorely missed. William was a family man, first and foremost. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his five children: William Brown Jr., Stephon Brown, Jamal Brown, Artavia Brown, and Timothy Brown. His family was his pride and joy, and he poured his heart into ensuring they were surrounded by love and opportunities. His 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild were the lights of his life, each one holding a special place in his heart. In every role he undertook—be it as a soldier, a deacon, a father, or a friend—William embodied kindness, integrity, and a quiet strength. He was a beacon of hope and a pillar of support to many, always ready with a helping hand or a wise word. His laughter and stories brought joy to family gatherings, and his unwavering faith inspired those around him. William’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, service, and faith. Though his time on this earth has ended, the impact he made will echo through the lives of those he touched. His legacy of love and service will continue to guide and inspire his family and friends. Friends and family are invited to celebrate William’s life at a service to be held at First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church’s community outreach program, a cause William supported passionately. Rest in peace, William Brown. Your life was a blessing, and your memory will be cherished forever.
