William Brent Richins, affectionately known to family and friends as Brent, passed away peacefully at his home on April 10, 2026, at the age of 84, after courageously battling non-smoker’s lung cancer for two years. Born on March 29, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Brent was the beloved son of Afton E. Richins and Leah Richins, both of whom preceded him in death.
Brent's life was a testament to the art of living passionately and fully. He was raised in a home filled with love, alongside his siblings, Shirlene Burt, Connie Foulger, Gayle Burgoyne, and Jann Ludlow, who survive him, and his late sister, Margene Tucker. Brent cherished these relationships deeply, fostering a family bond that remained steadfast throughout his life.
In 1976, Brent married the love of his life, Eugenia Louisa Suazo, with whom he shared 49 years of unwavering dedication and love. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures. Eugenia remains as a testament to their enduring partnership and the beautiful life they created together.
A proud alumnus of Highland High School, Brent furthered his education at the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Geography. His education was just the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and skill, particularly in his professional and personal passions.
Brent was a master of many trades, a testament to his diverse talents and interests. He owned and operated a successful printing business and was equally adept at welding, making custom motorcycle parts, and restoring classic sports cars and motorcycles. His skills as a master mechanic were renowned, and his innovative spirit was evident in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional achievements, Brent's heart lay in his hobbies. He had an insatiable curiosity for all things mechanical, from cars and motorcycles to antiques. His home was a testament to his passions, a place where vintage treasures and mechanical marvels coexisted in harmony.
Brent’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and an unyielding spirit. His warmth, generosity, and boundless enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Though he has left this world, he leaves behind a trail of inspired hearts and cherished memories.
A celebration of Brent's remarkable life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, in memory of Brent’s generous spirit and enduring love for life.
William Brent Richins will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and mechanical wonder will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Brent. Your journey continues in the hearts of those who loved you.
