William Brandefine

William ''Billy'' Brandefine, aged 51, passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family, after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. Born on April 13, 1975, in Staten Island, New York, Billy's life was marked by warmth, generosity, and an unyielding spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Billy was the cherished son of Joseph (predeceased) and Laura Brandefine. He leaves behind a loving family, including fiancée, Tatyana, his sister Alaina Giudice and her husband Mike, sister Kristy Brandefine and her husband Brian Gilsenan and his brother, Joseph Brandefine. He is also survived by his adoring nephews and nieces, Joseph Brandefine, Adalynn, Lilah and Jack Giudice, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Billy is also lovingly remembered by his former wife Stefanie Spencer. An alumnus of Tottenville High School, where he played football and forged friendship and core memories. Billy pursued higher education at the College of Staten Island, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics. His professional journey as a commodities broker in Manhattan spanned over 25 years, during which he not only excelled in his career but also touched the lives of countless colleagues with his vibrant personality and insightful mind. Billy's life was enriched through his love for travel, food, music and culture. A true foodie, he delighted in sharing his culinary creations and hosting gatherings for friends and family, making each occasion a celebration of life and laughter. His passion for wine led him to build an impressive collection, reflecting his appreciation for the finer things in life. In 2022, Billy relocated from Manhattan to Florida, where he became a cherished member of the St. Joan of Arc parish in Boca Raton. His zest for life extended to his love for sports being an avid supporter of his childhood teams, the New York Jets and New York Rangers. In Florida, his season tickets to the Miami Dolphins provided him with countless joyful memories shared with friends and family. Known for his infectious energy and ability to light up any room, Billy was everyone's favorite person. His intelligence, humor, and boundless generosity endeared him to all, leaving a legacy of love and laughter in his wake. In honor of Billy's memory, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Trustbride Foundation, reflecting his spirit of giving and his dedication to making the world a better place. Billy Brandefine was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. As we celebrate his life, we take comfort in the indelible impact he made on our hearts and the world around him. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312.
