It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of William Bradley Arding, affectionately known to all as Brad, on March 22, 2026, at Hogarth Manor in the comforting presence of his beloved family. Brad was a cherished part of our lives, and his legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
Born in the vibrant city of Toronto, Ontario, Brad was the treasured son of Albert and Elizabeth Arding (Antti). He was predeceased by his loving parents, his dear sister Karen Salter, and numerous aunts and uncles who paved the way for the strong family bonds he cherished throughout his life.
Brad shared an extraordinary journey of love with his devoted wife, Sheila, whom he married on May 15, 1999. Their enduring partnership, which began in 1997, was a testament to their shared adventures and unwavering commitment to each other. Together, they welcomed a beautiful family, his daughter Lindsay (Chris) and son Jason (married to Lisa) with endless love and support. Brad's legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren, Logan and Orion, who brought immense joy to his life.
Brad's professional journey was marked by dedication and respect. His career as a manager at Reimer Trucking, forming many enduring friendships along the way. His career path later led him to a managerial role in the automotive department at Walmart, and finally to the City of Thunder Bay Transit Department, where he retired as a manager in September 2019. Brad's leadership and friendship left an indelible mark on all those he worked with.
A man of many passions, Brad found joy in the thrill of Terrace Bay Dragfest every August, sharing his love for race cars with Sheila, his "Race Car Gal." Boating on summer days was another of his cherished pursuits, as he embraced the tranquility and freedom of the open water. Brad's adventurous spirit was further reflected in his travels to Jamaica, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and other exotic destinations, where he created lasting memories with those he loved.
Music was Brad's lifelong companion, with bands like Journey, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac serving as the soundtrack to his life. His appreciation for music was just one of the ways he celebrated the beauty of the world around him.
Brad is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his children Lindsay (Chris) and Jason (Lisa), his cherished grandchildren Logan and Orion, his brothers Gary, Kevin (Adrienne), and Kenny (Elaine), and brother-in-law Rick (Dee). He also leaves behind many beloved sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory close.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brad's memory to the Diabetic Association, an organization close to his heart.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Hogarth Manor for their exceptional care and support during Brad's final days. A special thank you is extended to Theresa, Miranda, Trish, Michele, and Lewis for their unwavering kindness and compassion.
Brad's life was a testament to love, family, friendship, and adventure. Though he has left his earthly home, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know him. His memory will be cherished as a guiding light and a source of inspiration for all who continue the journey he began.
