William Boice Humble Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will be remembered by all who knew him. Born on February 28, 1954, in Monroe, Louisiana, William was a man whose life was defined by his genuine spirit and his unwavering dedication to those he loved.
William was a man of many talents and interests, most notably his work as a mechanic—a career he pursued with passion and expertise until his retirement. His hands, so capable with machinery, were also gentle enough to plant flowers and tend to a garden, which he diligently grew each year. William's love for the outdoors was evident in his daily joy rides with his faithful dog, Charcoal, who accompanied him every morning. His fondness for nature extended to his care for farm animals, a testament to his nurturing spirit.
To those who knew him, William was a beacon of warmth and kindness. He had a natural ability to connect with people, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His friendly demeanor and love for conversation meant he never met a stranger; rather, he found a friend in every face he encountered. He was, as many would say, one of the kindest men they had the privilege to meet, and his absence is deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
William was predeceased by his cherished wife, Dejuana Kris Humble, who was his partner in life and love. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Ann Humble; his brother, Fred Humble; his mother, Shivery Burdeaux; his stepfather, Faye Burdeaux; his father, William Humble; and his stepmother, Betty Humble. Their memories and the love they shared continue to live on in the hearts of their family.
He is survived by his devoted children: Khloe Humble, Roi Humble, Kelli Humble, Billy Humble, and John Humble and his wife Christina. His legacy is carried forward by his four grandchildren—Kaislee and Rylan Humble, Kristopher Humble, and Sean Humble—who were the light of his life. William is also survived by his sister, Linda Sheptock, and his stepbrothers, Wayne Burdeaux and his wife Denise, and David Burdeaux and his wife Rhonda. His stepsisters, Donna Buhler and Dianne Burdeaux, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also mourn his passing.
In honoring William's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. Although the service is intimate, the impact of his life will be felt far beyond the confines of the gathering, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
William Boice Humble Jr.'s life was a testament to the profound difference one person can make in the world through kindness, generosity, and a genuine love for life. He was truly thankful for each day and found joy in the simplest of pleasures. His memory will forever be a guiding light for his family and friends, reminding them of the beauty of a life well-lived.
