William (Bill) Leiper

November 24, 1956 — September 14, 2026

William "Bill" Leiper, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born on November 24, 1956, in West Hartford, Connecticut, Bill was the beloved son of his birth mother, Lois Watson, and was lovingly raised in Bloomfield, Connecticut by his adoptive parents, Charles and Ann Leiper, all of whom predeceased him. Bill's early education took place at Saint Thomas Seminary, where he graduated high school in 1974. He furthered his education at Merrimack College, earning his degrees in 1983. A dedicated IT professional, Bill dedicated 30 years of his life to his career, retiring early in 2013 to spend more time with his family and and friends. A man of many passions, Bill was particularly fond of music and was an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox. He was known for his quick wit, keen intelligence, and the warmth he extended to all who knew him. His kindness and humor were hallmarks of his personality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Bill's legacy is carried forward by his loving children: Christine Leiper, Nancy (Peter) Ciarcia, and Meghann (Tony) Jhingree, as well as his devoted siblings, Ellen Malloy, Elaine Skaparas, Diane Palm, Scott Watson, and James Watson. He was a proud grandfather to Julia Jhingree, Jessica Jhingree, Menisha Martinez, and John Leiper-McSheehy, and cherished the arrival of his great-grandchild, Joseph Perez-Martinez. As we remember Bill, we celebrate a life well-lived and the countless memories he created with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bill's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation, an organization close to his heart. Bill's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
