William "Bill" Kirk, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 30, 1943, in Spokane, Washington, Bill lived a life brimming with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering love for those around him. The son of Kenneth and Ardyce Kirk, Bill was raised with strong family values and a sense of adventure that led him to enlist in the U.S. Navy before completing high school. His service to his country was a source of pride and camaraderie that extended through his life, notably reflected in his active involvement with the Veterans Of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he served as a two-time commander for Post 51. On April 22, 1967, Bill married the love of his life, Rosemary Kissenger, in a beautiful ceremony in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Their 41-year marriage was filled with joy, adventure, and an enduring dedication to family. Bill and Rosemary raised their four children, Melinda, Kenneth (Anna), Michelle (Ron), and Colleen (Chad), with love and commitment, cherishing moments spent together at the lake or camping in the woods. Rosemary's passing in 2008 was a profound loss, yet the bond they created continued to thrive within their family. In recent years, Bill found companionship and joy with Sharon Reed. Their shared love for playing pool, bingo, and darts brought laughter and warmth to their lives, creating cherished memories that will be fondly remembered. Bill's career spanned various roles, including his work at Rosauers supermarket, the Mead School District as a bus driver, Jet Services, and the Davenport Hotel. He was a man of integrity and dedication, respected by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Bill was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, where his charismatic personality and infectious smile made him a cherished part of the community. He was known for his love of storytelling, jokes, and his ability to make everyone feel at ease and welcomed. A devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Bill took every opportunity to visit and share in their lives, imparting wisdom and humor at every turn. His love for family extended beyond his immediate relatives, embracing friends and community as part of his extended family. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Ardyce Kirk; his beloved wife, Rosemary; and his sisters, Darlene Malone and Rhae Stoudt. He is survived by his children and their families, his brother Dale Floyd, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Valley Eagles in Spokane Valley. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of a man who brought joy to so many. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this time of loss. Your kindness and compassion are deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 51 or a charity of your choice in Bill's memory. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
