With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved William Arthur King, who left this world on May 22, 2026, surrounded by the comforting presence of his loved ones. Born on February 10, 1943, in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, William led a life marked by warmth, integrity, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. William was the cherished son of John and Mary King, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved wife, Katherine King, and brother, Bobby King. Despite these profound losses, William faced life with an unyielding spirit and a heart full of love. He is survived by a host of loved ones who will continue to honor his memory, including his three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were constant sources of pride and joy. A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, William went on to serve his country with honor in the Army in 1970. His commitment to service extended beyond the military and into his professional life, where he excelled as a mechanical engineer for over three decades. His work was a testament to his meticulous nature and innovative mind. In December 1968, William married Katherine, and together they built a life rich in love and companionship. Their union was a beacon of strength and devotion, admired by all who knew them. An active member of the First Baptist Church of New Life for over 40 years, William was a man of faith who found joy in giving back to his community. His dedication to his church family was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed in the congregation. William’s life was filled with simple pleasures, such as fishing and spending time with family and friends. Known for his honesty and laughable statements, he had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His infectious smile and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A celebration of William's life will take place on May 30, 2026, at 1:30 PM at New Life Church, located at 425 E Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19120. We invite all who knew him to join us in remembrance of a life well-lived and to share in the love and memories he leaves behind. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the hospice team and everyone who offered their support and prayers during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength. While William may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May we honor his memory by living with the same grace and generosity that he exemplified every day of his life.
