In Loving Memory of William Thomas
We mourn the peaceful passing of William Thomas, who left this world on August 28, 2026, at his cherished home. Born on February 4, 1957, in Fulton, Missouri, William was the beloved son of Paul and Margaret (Hawkins) Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Eddie “Weasel” Thomas, whose memories he carried fondly in his heart.
William's life was a tapestry woven with laughter, love, and endless stories. A proud graduate of Fulton High School, he dedicated 25 years of his career as a pipe fitter at the University of Missouri, where he was known for his hard work and camaraderie.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Kimberly Thomas, their son William Taylor Thomas, and daughter Lynsey Taylor, along with her loving husband, Daniel Taylor. His surviving family also includes his sister, Cathy Sligar, and her husband Sam Sligar, as well as his sister-in-laws, Dana Johnson Jennings and Darla Pritchard. William was a cherished uncle to Becky Thomas Valentine and Rachel Sligar, and a proud great uncle to Nathan Riley and Kelsie Riley.
William was a man of many passions. He loved playing pool and was an active member of the Fulton Senior Center. His quick wit and storytelling skills made him the life of every gathering, and he relished making others laugh. Whether playing poker with his closest friends, tending to his annual garden, or enjoying the serene pleasure of fishing, William found joy in life's simple moments, especially those spent outdoors with family.
His family extends heartfelt gratitude to his dearest friends Arlin Kettle, Greg Atterberry, and cousin Denny Hawkins for their unwavering support and companionship throughout his life.
A private ceremony will be held to honor William's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in his name, to continue his legacy of giving and kindness.
William Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an enduring spirit that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
