Willard lobacz

November 3, 1977 — May 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Willard "Willie" Lobacz, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left us too soon in the early morning hours of May 14, 2026. Born on November 3, 1977, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Willard's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication to family, community, and the land he cherished so deeply. Willard was the cherished son of Kenney and Linda Lobacz, who instilled in him a deep respect for nature and the value of hard work. He was a proud alumnus of Owen-Withee High School, graduating in 1996, a tradition that continued with both of his daughters also earning their diplomas there. Willard's life and legacy are rooted in the rich soil of his family's fourth-generation farm, where he was a passionate steward of the land. A mechanical innovator and inventive thinker, Willard never met a machine he couldn't fix or reimagine to suit his needs. His creativity knew no bounds; whether it was an idea, a piece of bark, or a forgotten relic in a junk pile, he had the unique gift of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. An avid outdoorsman, Willard found solace and joy in the woods, often accompanied by his loyal companion, a border collie named Bear. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, from four-wheeler rides to cutting wood for winter. Willard's love for the land was profound; every Easter, he planted trees, nurturing the cycles of life that mirrored his own connection to the earth. His passion for fishing led him to the Black River, where he spent countless hours with family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Willard's skill with a bow was legendary, and his sharpshooting prowess was matched only by the warmth of his smile and the resonance of his laughter. Those who knew Willard best remember him as an honorable, kind, and protective man whose family always came first. His bright, warm smile and vivacious laugh lit up every room he entered, dispelling any perceptions of intimidation with his genuine kindness and caring nature. His love for his family was unwavering, and there was nothing he wouldn't do to be there for them. Willard's creativity extended beyond the fields; he was a talented craftsman who loved working with wood and painting, leaving behind beautiful creations that will serve as lasting reminders of his vibrant spirit. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to grow, much like the trees he lovingly planted and nurtured. In accordance with his family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Willard's life and the profound impact he had on those who knew him. As we say goodbye to our dear Willard, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever walk the woods he loved, with Bear by his side, and his laughter echoing in the hearts of all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local conservation organization, in honor of Willard's dedication to preserving the natural world he held so dear. Willard Lobacz will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and stewardship of the land will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
