Wesley Richmond Thomas, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world peacefully on May 4, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Vernon, BC. Born on December 30, 1952, in the quaint town of Lacome, Alberta, Wesley was a beacon of warmth, humor, and kindness to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Wesley was the cherished son of Delbert and Unice Thomas, who predeceased him and whom he now joins in eternal rest. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jamie and Tracy Thomas, who were the light of his life, and his treasured grandchildren, Zoe, Xander, Noa, and Kai, who brought him immense joy and pride. Wesley is also fondly remembered by his sister Dee Brand, and his brothers Wayne and Bob Thomas, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. For 38 years, Wesley dedicated himself to his career as a driver for RE Postill and Sons, where he was respected for his diligence, reliability, and the camaraderie he shared with colleagues. His work ethic and dedication were unparalleled, and he took immense pride in his role, retiring only this year. An avid enthusiast of the drag racing community, Wesley's passion for speed and precision earned him numerous accolades over the years. His involvement in the community was not just about the thrill of the race; it was about the friendships he forged and the memories he created on and off the track. Wesley's zest for life extended beyond the racetrack. He cherished his annual trips to Mexico with a close-knit group of friends, relishing the sun-soaked beaches and vibrant culture. A lover of the great outdoors, he often found solace in fishing trips with family and friends, where laughter and stories were shared as freely as the catch of the day. Wesley also spent many years as a dedicated security presence at Vipers games, where his infectious spirit endeared him to fans and players alike. Known for his great sense of humor, Wesley was always the life of the party. He delighted in teaching others to play the guitar, sharing not just his musical talent, but also the joy of creating music. A karaoke enthusiast, Wesley was never shy to take the stage, his voice a testament to his lively spirit and love for entertaining. To honor Wesley's life, a memorial service will be held on June 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, located at 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon, BC. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. In lieu of flowers, Wesley's family kindly requests that donations be made to a local cancer clinic in your area, honoring his courageous battle with lung cancer. Through your generosity, Wesley's spirit of kindness and care for others will continue to shine. Though Wesley's journey on this earth has come to an end, his legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who cherished him. His memory will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to embrace life with the same enthusiasm and warmth that he so effortlessly embodied.
