August 10, 1956 — September 23, 2026

Wesley Lee Everett, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 10, 1956, in Beaumont, Texas, Wesley was the beloved son of Loutticher and Wesley Everett. Wesley's early life in Beaumont Texas was marked by strong family bonds and a deep sense of community, values he carried with him. Wesley answered the call to serve his country, dedicating two honorable years from 1977 to 1979 in the United States Army. Following his military service, Wesley embarked on a career with the City of Dallas Sanitation Department, where his dedication and work ethic earned him great respect until his retirement. Outside of his professional life, Wesley was a man of many passions. Whether it was playing pool, swimming, or engaging in a spirited game of chair volleyball, bingo, or Scrabble, Wesley approached each endeavor with enthusiasm and joy. A lover of music and movies, he also cherished the weekly thrill of watching his favorite football team, the Washington Commanders. Above all, Wesley held a profound love for family time, creating countless cherished memories with those he held dear. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Loutticher and Wesley Everett, and his sister, Gladys McBride. He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Gwendolyn B. Everett; his children, Rockella Neal and Darvin Williams; and his bonus sons, Everick Bishop and Timothy Johnson, along with his wife Cassandra. Wesley is also survived by his siblings, Patricia Clay and her husband James, and Ben Wiseman. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to David, Wesley's dedicated caregiver, who not only ensured Wesley's comfort but also shared in many enjoyable Scrabble games and deep conversations. David's companionship brought much happiness to Wesley's days. Wesley was known for his warm smile and sweet spirit, always making those around him feel welcomed and loved. Wesley's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the warmth he shared with the world will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

I’m Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee, God wanted me now; He set me free.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time whether it was a visit, phone call, card, food or being in your thoughts and prayers. All was greatly appreciated and heartfelt. Thank God -Thank You
