Wendell Earl Gray

February 20, 1954 — September 23, 2026

Wendell Earl Gray, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and craftsmanship. Born on February 20, 1954, in the quaint town of Glasgow, Kentucky, Wendell was the beloved son of the late Luther and Donnagene Gray. His life, rich with adventure and humor, touched the hearts of all who knew him. Wendell's journey through life was marked by hard work and dedication. A seasoned logger and later a shop supervisor at a roofing company, he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a respected figure in his professional circles. Yet, it was his personal life that truly defined him. An avid hunter and fisherman, Wendell found solace and joy in the great outdoors. His skills extended beyond the forest and streams; he was also a talented wood crafter, breathing life into every piece he touched. Wendell had a knack for using a bull whip with precision, and his enthusiasm for line dancing was infectious, drawing in anyone who dared to join him on the dance floor. Wendell's sense of humor was as legendary as his craft. A huge joker at heart, he had a unique ability to get under your skin in the most endearing ways. His lightheartedness and mischievous spirit brought smiles and laughter to those around him, leaving a lasting impression that will forever be cherished. Wendell's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tamera Phillips, and his cherished siblings, Cindy Gray, Gary Gray, and Darlene Gamble. His legacy continues through his two adored grandchildren, Julius and Jaesei Robinson, who brought immense joy to his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald and Donald Gray, as well as Toby Gamble, whose memories he held close to his heart. As we remember Wendell, we celebrate a life lived with gusto and gratitude. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the laughter and love he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Wendell's memory to a charity of your choice, supporting causes close to his heart.
