It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Wayne R. McDaniel, who departed this life on March 28, 2026, at the age of 74. Wayne left this world peacefully at his home, enveloped by the love of his family, after a long and courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. His journey on this earth began in Milan, Indiana, where he was born to Carl and Ruby McDaniel on September 10, 1951. Wayne's life was a testament to the power of love, perseverance, and kindness. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, Carl and Ruby, his beloved daughter Barbara, his precious grandson Mikal, and his dear sister Wanda. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Judy, whose unwavering support and partnership were the cornerstones of his life. Together, they shared an extraordinary journey, driving a truck across the country side by side for 33 years—a testament to their unbreakable bond. Wayne was a father who cherished his daughters, Teresa (Gene) Blazer of Foristell, MO, Deb (Joe) Hurlburt of Driggs, Idaho, and Crystal Gonzales of Mobile, AL, showing them boundless love and guidance. His brother, Tom (Nicole) Cornett of Sebring, FL, shared a lifelong connection with Wayne, and his sister Carolyn, of XXX, completed a family that was Wayne's pride and joy. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored and spoke of with immense pride. A man of quiet strength and deep humility, Wayne served his country with honor in the US Army, a duty that filled him with immense pride. His military service was a reflection of his character, and he was delighted when his grandson, Daniel, followed in his footsteps by enlisting in the Army in 2013. Wayne's career as an over-the-road truck driver spanned 46 years, the last 33 of which were joyfully spent with Judy. Together, they navigated the highways of 48 states and Canada, creating countless memories and collecting stories that Wayne loved to share. His quick wit, warm smile, and gift for storytelling endeared him to all who crossed his path, while his kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. In 2020, Wayne and Judy embarked on a new chapter in Sebring, Florida, where they found a vibrant community in Buttonwood Bay. Even as his health waned, Wayne remained a beacon of positivity, often seen riding his scooter through the neighborhood, spreading joy with every wave. In his final years, Wayne reconnected with his faith at Buttonwood Bay Church under the guidance of Pastor Hess, bringing him and his family profound peace and gratitude. Wayne's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff at Compassionate Care Hospice. Their dedication and kindness allowed Wayne to spend his final days at home, surrounded by love, and his family is eternally grateful for the exceptional care he received. In accordance with Wayne's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Buttonwood Bay Church, a place that brought Wayne much comfort and solace. Wayne R. McDaniel's legacy is one of love, strength, and enduring kindness. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with adventures, love, and countless memories that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
