It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Wayne Peters, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 7, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Jeffrey L. Peters and Margaret C. Peters, and the cherished brother of the late Alan Peters. Wayne was a man who embraced life with unmatched passion and determination. He was a beacon of light, whose journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his daughter, Trina Peters, his son Rory Randolph and wife Teresa, his daughters Janel Peters and Melissa Danzy with her husband Maurice, his sons Jeffrey Peters with wife Carolyn, Stanley Peters with his wife Doris, his brother Robert Allen, his sister Linda Blake and her husband Jeffery, as well as a host of cousins and dear friends. Wayne's life was further enriched by the love of his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Wayne's life was marked by service and dedication. After earning his GED, he enlisted in the Army, where he served his country with honor and distinction, earning the National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged in 1972. Throughout his career, Wayne demonstrated an incredible versatility and intellect, applying his skills across various fields from maintenance to manufacturing. He was a man without limits, constantly exploring new avenues and excelling in each. A pillar of his community, Wayne was deeply involved with Sandy Level Baptist Church, where he found joy and purpose in his roles as a Trustee and Usher. His faith and commitment to service were evident in every aspect of his life. Wayne was a man of many interests, a lover of jazz music, an avid reader, and a movie enthusiast. He found solace in the simple joys of life, like cooking, fishing, and playing cards, but his greatest joy came from the time spent with family and friends. Known for his sharp wit and great sense of humor, Wayne's presence brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him. Wayne enjoyed a long-term relationship with Sandy Martinez, now deceased, whose memory he cherished deeply. A celebration of Wayne's life will take place on July 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at Sandy Level Baptist Church, located at 2920 Timrod Road, Bethune, SC 29009.
