Born on May 18, 1965, in New Jersey, Wayne was the cherished son of the late Orville Bernard Norton and Elizabeth Norton. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Judy and Orville, whose memories he held dear. Wayne's journey through life was enriched by the unwavering support and companionship of his loving wife, Sheila Norton. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, moving from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to White Oak, Georgia, where they created their dream home—a testament to their enduring bond.
Wayne was a devoted father to his sons, Wayne Norton Jr. and Daniel Norton, and a proud grandfather to his grandson, Kamen Norton. His legacy is carried on by his sisters, Judy Nina of Virginia (with her husband Todd), Chrissy Ritsema of Florida (with her husband Derek), and Michelle Byrd of Virginia (with her husband Bob). Wayne's extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember his kindness and generosity.
From an early age, Wayne demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit, becoming a business owner at just 17 years old. Alongside his father, he established Bandits Automotive on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The duo's venture blossomed into a successful enterprise, encompassing a tractor trailer company, dump truck company, and an esteemed auto body shop, where Wayne earned a reputation as the best diesel mechanic in the area. Later, in partnership with his best friend, Eugene Johnson, Wayne expanded his expertise into demolition work, utilizing excavators, bulldozers, and more. Together, they tackled challenges with a tenacity and camaraderie that inspired those around them.
Throughout his life, Wayne was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge in Accomac, Virginia. His commitment to community service was evident in his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Known for his boundless generosity, Wayne's home became a haven for children, where he stoked the grill to feed them and taught them to ride ATVs and motorcycles. His infectious laughter and playful spirit made him a father figure to many, earning him the affectionate moniker "Dad" from countless young hearts.
Wayne's passions extended beyond his professional endeavors, as he found solace in the simple joys of life. Boating and fishing were cherished pastimes, while his recent exploration of wood carving revealed a remarkable talent for creating beautiful, hand-crafted pieces such as bowls, urns, vases, flower pots, and cutting boards.
Wayne will be remembered for his immense heart and genuine kindness, qualities that touched the lives of all who knew him. His love for riding motorcycles with his wife and best friends was a testament to his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
