It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Wayne Edward Sutton, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, who left us on March 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Wayne passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at Barnes West Hospital in St. Peter’s, Missouri. He was 59 years old. Born on April 16, 1967, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Gene Wilbert Sutton Sr. and Ida Pearl Sutton, Wayne was a beacon of resilience and kindness from a young age. He grew up in a family that taught him strength, humility, and the value of deep familial bonds. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Gene Sutton Sr., and his siblings Richard Kilgore, Gene Sutton Jr., and Sherry Kilgore, all of whom he held close in his heart. Wayne’s journey through life was enriched by his loving wife, Angela Vetrone Sutton. Together, they found peace, happiness, and a shared faith in God, creating a beautiful life with his two stepsons, Cody and Jay (Waisner). Wayne’s love for Angela and the boys was profound and unwavering, and they cherished him dearly. A proud alumnus of Berkeley Senior High School, Wayne’s career path led him to a fulfilling role as a mover with Allied. His work was a testament to his strength and commitment, qualities that inspired those around him. Wayne was a man of many interests and passions. As a child, he loved to swim, play baseball, and football, excelling in swimming with numerous first-place blue ribbons to his name. These activities brought him joy and were a reflection of his spirited and adventurous nature. Wayne shared his faith and devotion with Angela at Prices Branch Christian Church in Wright City, Missouri. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with peace and guiding him through both joyful and challenging times. He leaves behind his mother Ida Pearl Sutton and family who adored him, including his sisters, Melinda Sutton and Lisa Dulaney Sutton; his brother, Tyronne Sutton; his half-sisters, Monica and Vickie Sutton; and his half-brother, Dana Sutton. Wayne's life was further enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Barnes West Hospital for their compassionate care, and to all friends and family for their prayers and kind words during this difficult time. This evening a celebration of life held in Wayne’s honor, as his family gathers to celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, courage, and a legacy of kindness that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Wayne Edward Sutton’s journey may have concluded here on earth, but his spirit lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created. Rest in peace, dear Wayne. You will be forever cherished.
