It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne E. Burton, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Wayne departed this world peacefully at his home on September 27, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on October 12, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, Wayne was the cherished son of the late Elwin Wayne Burton and Shirley Burton. Wayne was the embodiment of dedication and perseverance, qualities that he honed from a young age and carried through his life as a devoted husband, father, and master mechanic. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Bolden, on April 18, 1978, in Baltimore, Maryland, and together they nurtured a loving family environment for their children. Although their paths eventually diverged, the bond they created through their family remained strong and enduring. A graduate of Mergenthaler High School, Wayne pursued his passion for mechanics, establishing a notable career as a mechanic for the City of Baltimore's Fire Department and other city departments. His expertise and commitment to his craft were well-regarded, leaving an indelible mark on the community he so diligently served. Prior to his tenure with the city, Wayne honed his skills in various local businesses, earning a reputation as a master mechanic who could always be relied upon for his meticulous work and integrity. Wayne's life was rich and full, not only because of his professional achievements but also due to his vibrant personality and numerous hobbies. He delighted in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing and gardening, and found immense satisfaction in working with his hands—a testament to his resourceful and industrious spirit. His membership in a local motorcycle organization exemplified his love for adventure and community involvement, participating in numerous events that brought joy and camaraderie to many. Above all, Wayne was a family man. He was a proud father to Nathaniel Faison, Patrick Burton, and Kendell Burton, and a doting grandfather to Noah Faison, Jaden Faison, Alexander Burton, Maxwell Burton, and Isabelle Burton. His family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Wayne was preceded in death by his eldest son, Wayne E. Burton Jr., and his sister, Robin Burton, whom he loved dearly. His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving brother, Pierre Burton, and a host of extended family and friends. Wayne's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him. In honoring his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Wayne's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community support. Wayne E. Burton's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the impact of a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
