Wayne D Brooks

Wayne D. Brooks (Mesa, AZ) passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the age of 94 surrounded by family. Born on March 2, 1931, in Blountsville, Indiana, Wayne was the son of Floyd Anderson and Mary Ellen (Parker) Brooks. Wayne attended Losantville (Union) High School, graduating in 1949. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Ellen and two sisters, Anna Mary and Viola Glee, his sisters and their husbands; Lucy and Floyd Powell, Lydia and James Baney, Dorothy and Myron Thompson, Rosie and Sam Jones. Wayne was also preceded in death by his brothers and their wives; John and Mabel Brooks, Leo and Viola Brooks, Wilbur and Patty Brooks as well as his daughter Paula Straszheim and his son-in-law Terry Green. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sarah Brooks, son Tod Brooks and his husband Ryan Phillips, Pam Green, Reg Brooks, and his son-in-law Roger Straszheim. Wayne was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and a fourteen great-grandchildren. His extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was an avid golfer who found joy and solace on the greens, sharing countless rounds with friends and family. Graveside services will be held at a later date for family members.
