Wayne Morris Brown

Wayne Brown, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026. Born on June 27, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Wayne lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community. Wayne was the cherished son of the late T. Maude Reed Brown and James Robert Brown. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Wayne Brown Jr. His legacy lives on through his surviving children: Brittany Brown of Birmingham, Alabama, and John Porter of St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, Wayne was a guiding presence to his two bonus daughters, Isha Johnson and Latonya Ford, whom he helped raise with love and wisdom. Wayne was a proud and loyal veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1976. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor, which he carried throughout his life. A lifelong learner, Wayne achieved the remarkable accomplishment of earning two Bachelor degrees, reflecting his dedication to education and personal growth. Wayne's family was the centerpiece of his life. He was a devoted brother to Deborah Brown-Jones sharing countless memories and laughter throughout the years. He was a doting grandfather to Tyler, John II, Jaiden, Ajahne, and Isaiah. His presence in their lives was a source of strength and joy, and his legacy will continue through them. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at VA St.Louis Health Care System, Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center, Griswold Home Care and Currie’s Funeral Home for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Wayne's time with them. Their kindness and dedication were a great comfort, and the family will always be thankful for their service.
