In Loving Memory

Waylon "Chipper" Ray Pope
February 10, 1977 — February 24, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep admiration, we honor and celebrate the extraordinary life of Waylon "Chipper" Ray Pope, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, who departed this world on February 24, 2026, at the age of 49. Born on February 10, 1977, in Georgia, Chipper lived a life full of compassion, laughter, and love, touching the hearts of everyone he met.
Chipper was the cherished son of Nancy "Mama Bear" Hamell Pope, Joan and Olen Brown, and Alicia Rodriguez. He carried forward the legacy of his late father, William Earl Pope Sr., and his cherished "pops," Eluterio Saucedo, with grace and dignity. His brothers, William “Peanut” Earl Pope Jr. and Rene “Doughboy” Saucedo, along with his grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Hamell, and Beatrice Odom Pope, predeceased him and now welcome him with open arms.
His memory lives on through his beloved children, Amelia Crumpton, David Cain Pope, Joseph Cole Pope, and Isaiah Ray Pope Burden, who inherited his warmth, humor, and resilience. Chipper's unwavering love and guidance will forever be a beacon in their lives. He also leaves behind his devoted girlfriend, Morgan Booker, whose companionship brought him joy and comfort.
Chipper's life was enriched by the bonds he shared with his surviving brothers, Ty Pope, Ralph Pope, Roland Caten, Rudy Saucedo, Domingo Herrera, William Kohrumel, and all the Pasadena Homies, who stood by him through life's joys and challenges. He is also survived by three loving sisters, several nieces and nephews, and a countless number of friends who will deeply miss his infectious smile and kind spirit.
Though Chipper did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, he was a father figure and mentor to many. His generous spirit and zest for life were evident in his unwavering support for his community, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear.
Chipper's departure leaves a profound void in our hearts, but his legacy of love and laughter will forever illuminate our lives. As we say goodbye, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and continue to celebrate the beautiful soul that was Waylon "Chipper" Ray Pope.
A celebration of Chipper's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, honoring the remarkable journey of a man who gave so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Chipper's name to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of generosity and kindness.
Rest in peace, dear Chipper. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
