In Loving Memory

Warren Kenneth Rodgers
August 25, 1939 — August 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Warren Kenneth Rodgers on August 12, 2026. Born on August 25, 1939, in Orange, Texas, Warren was a beacon of love, strength, and service until he was called home after a courageous battle with a sudden illness.
Warren was the beloved son of Charley and Lorraine Rodgers, who predeceased him, as did his brother Vander Rodgers and his twin sisters, Fayetta and Lounetta. He is survived by his cherished spouse, Harriot Rodgers, with whom he shared a lifelong bond beginning in 1971. Though their paths diverged for a time, they were joyously reunited in 2009, marrying in 2013 and continuing their journey together in faith and love.
He leaves behind a legacy of love in his children: Kenneth, Anthony, Anyya, Rhonda, Sherely, Warren Jr., Shanamar, Kuanda, and Julis, alongside his brother Fred Rodgers. Warren was a proud grandfather to Christopher Chretien, Jaray Malone, Jucolby Chretien, Jukailen Garza, Jukysha Johnson, Juosha Bean, Jynesis Alfred, Kaia Grace Garza, Kaleb Wright, Keandra Rodgers, Kenneth Rodgers Jr., Kiaundra Rodgers, Kiarra Rodgers, Kyra Rodgers, Leia Hunt, Linton Andres, Marquis Rodgers, Shaeyla Johnson, Tasha Robinson, Taylie Rodgers, Tomekia Farmer, and Vanessia Rodgers. He also adored his great-grandchildren, Aziel Foster, Athena Johnson-Brown, Kenneth Rodgers III, Markaela Rodgers, Mya Rodgers, Nykela Rodgers, and Zariyah Rodgers. The family fondly remembers Kaela Rodgers, who preceded him.
Warren's dedication to his faith was unwavering; he devoted 43 years of service to 3 Oaks Missionary Baptist Church and a decade at King Solomon Baptist Church. His joy was found in singing, serving as a deacon, and working with the food ministry, always striving to uplift those around him.
A proud graduate of Charlton-Pollard High School in Beaumont, Texas, Warren excelled in football and baseball, nurturing a love for sports that stayed with him throughout his life. His passion for motorcycles led him to a community of "motorcycle brothers," a chapter of his life filled with adventure and camaraderie.
Later, Warren found fulfillment in his work with local food banks, distributing food to those in need with a dedication that inspired all who knew him. His quick wit, warm smile, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met, making them feel welcome and valued.
A celebration of Warren's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at King Solomon Baptist Church, located at 7407 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Champions of Caring Connections, 1019 N. Harris Ave., Compton, CA 90221.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Francis Medical Center and Downey Post-Acute for their compassionate care. Warren's life was a testament to love, faith, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Special thanks to: Kenneth and Keisha, Kambra, Toya, Sarah and Patrick Magee, Victor and ValarieMenendez and most of all to Candy who has been with me every step of the way. All of you who have faithfully called and prayed, thank you and know that you are loved beyond measure.
