Warren Charles Ellis, Jr.

June 17, 1943 — June 18, 2026

Warren Charles Ellis, Jr., a man of remarkable spirit and unwavering resilience, sailed peacefully into eternal rest on June 18, 2026, just one day after celebrating his 83rd birthday. Born in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan on June 17, 1943, Warren was a beacon of light and love to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His passing came after a courageous battle with cancer, a fight he faced with the same determination and grace that defined his life. The son of Warren Charles Ellis, Sr. and Virginia Scarnegie, Warren was raised with values that would guide him throughout his life. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert, Warren's legacy of love and leadership continues to shine through his surviving family: his beloved wife of 56 years, Treasure Ellen, his cherished daughters Erika Anne and Alexis Marie, his precious granddaughter Piper, his brother Ronald and sister-in-law Marleen, and his nephews Mark and Warren. Warren also leaves behind a multitude of friends who became family over the years. Warren's life was a testament to the power of commitment and community. He graduated from Redford Union High School in 1961 and embarked on his college journey at Northern Michigan University. However, driven by a deep sense of duty and patriotism, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy alongside his lifelong friend, Davy Jones, serving valiantly in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968. Warren's service aboard the USS Hoel as a Gun Fire Control Technician earned him numerous decorations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. Upon returning home, Warren resumed his studies, completing his degree in business in 1970. That same year, he married his soulmate, Treasure, in a beautiful ceremony in Paradise, Michigan. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Warren's professional journey began at the Mirro Corporation in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where he worked diligently until 1982. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to purchase MirroCraft boats, transforming the business into Northport, Inc., a thriving boat-building enterprise in Gillett, Wisconsin. Even after retiring, Warren continued to share his expertise as a consultant for various businesses, including serving as Director of Materials for Cruiser Yachts. A man of the community, Warren was an active member of the Gillett Civic Club, the American Legion, the AmVets, and the Harbor Cove Boat Club. His hands-on approach and passion for bringing people together left an indelible mark on all he touched. Whether organizing community events, doing the bookkeeping for the boat club, or frying fish for the American Legion, Warren's contributions were as vast as his heart. Warren's zest for life was evident in his many hobbies and interests, from cooking and boating to flying and socializing. His natural curiosity and vibrant energy were infectious, and he was known for his captivating storytelling, humorous limericks, colorful sayings, and legendary pie-baking skills. Warren's outlook on life was simple yet profound: he never had a bad day, a testament to his positive spirit and enduring optimism. As we bid farewell to Warren, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, passion, and love. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. A private memorial service will be held, where family and friends will gather to honor Warren's extraordinary life and share stories of the joy he brought to all. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Warren's name to the American Cancer Society or a veterans' organization of choice, continuing his lifelong commitment to service and community. Warren Charles Ellis, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever sail on in the hearts of those he loved.
