Warner Anthony Smith

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Warner Anthony Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 19, 1957, to Edward and Attee (Molden) Smith, Warner's journey of life was one marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit. Growing up in the vibrant neighborhood of Roxbury, Warner attended Boston English High School, where a serendipitous dance led him to Elizabeth Bradley, the woman who would become his loving wife. Despite her initial reluctance to attend the dance, Elizabeth and Warner's paths crossed, and their love story began. They married in 1981, a union blessed with three wonderful children: Jacenta E.P. Smith of Fall River, Warner A. Smith, Jr. of Lynn, and Drake A. Smith of Fall River. His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren: Nicholas Z. Vasquez, David W. Garcia, Warner T. Smith, and Gabriel A. Lugo, each carrying forward Warner's spirit and values. Warner's commitment to his country was evident in his service with the United States Army Reserves. Following his return, he flourished as a devoted husband and father, while also excelling in his professional pursuits. A true jack of all trades, Warner's skills in carpentry, plumbing, and auto repairs were only surpassed by his passion for painting—a craft he truly loved. Beyond his professional talents, Warner was celebrated for his warm personality and quick wit. He possessed an innate ability to make those around him feel at ease and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His life was a testament to the importance of kindness and connection. Warner is preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, two nephews, one niece, and several brothers-in-law. He leaves behind his ex-wife, Elizabeth A. Smith, and a loving family including seven surviving siblings: George Smith of North Carolina, Ethel Jones of North Carolina, Ricco Smith of Boston, Michael Smith of Framingham, Niecy Smith of Boston, Joseph Smith of Lynn, and Joanne Barnes of Boston. A service celebrating Warner's life will be held at Goodrich Funeral Home, located at 128 Washington Street, Lynn, MA 01902, on August 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Warner's generous spirit. We extend our deepest gratitude to the First Baptist Church, Chelsea, for their unwavering love and support.
