May 22, 1958 — September 10, 2026

Wanda Jean McCartney, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. Born on May 22, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas, Wanda lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family and friends. Her spirit will be cherished by all who knew her. Wanda was the devoted wife of Kevin McCartney, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 43 years. The couple married on September 3, 1983, in San Antonio, Texas, and together they built a loving family that includes their three sons, Daniel, Mark, and Timothy. Wanda was the proud and doting grandmother to her five grandchildren: Erin, Emily, Everett, Lizzie, and Robbie. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them, including her daughters-in-law, Brittanie and Betsy McCartney. Known for her kindness, compassion, and an unyielding acceptance of others, Wanda was a beacon of love and light to everyone she met. Her home was always open to those in need, and she was never without a warm smile or a helping hand. An animal lover at heart, Wanda delighted in the companionship of her beloved cats and dogs, each of whom she fondly named and adored. Wanda's life was enriched by her many passions. An avid gardener, she possessed a green thumb that could nurture any plant into bloom. Wanda found joy in the simple pleasures of life—listening to music, dancing, cooking, and fishing—and she was never happier than when surrounded by the beauty of nature and the laughter of her family. Her love for all things yellow and elephant-related brought color and whimsy into her world, reflecting her vibrant personality and delightful sense of humor. The McCartney family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to their family, friends, and the Lord for their unwavering support and love during this difficult time. They find solace in the belief that Wanda is now in the comforting embrace of her Lord Jesus Christ. In honor of Wanda's memory, the family kindly requests that those wishing to do so plant seeds or a flower as a tribute to her love for gardening and her nurturing spirit. Wanda Jean McCartney's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. As we say farewell, we carry her words with us: "I love you."
