With heavy hearts and profound gratitude, we announce the passing of Wanda Bennett, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Born on April 11, 1980, in Houston, Texas, Wanda graced this world with her presence for 46 years before peacefully departing on June 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering love leave an everlasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Wanda was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Lakeisha Bennett and the beloved granddaughter of Dorothy and James, who predeceased her. Her legacy is carried forward by her devoted husband, Brandon, and their three beautiful children, McKenzie, Layla, and Brandon Jr. (BJ). Wanda's spirit lives on in the hearts of her siblings, Anthony Bennett, Adrian Bennett, and Raymond Bennett Jr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. A proud graduate of GISD in 1998, Wanda furthered her education at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, where she earned her degree. Her quest for knowledge continued as she pursued and achieved her MBA from a city college. Wanda's academic pursuits were a testament to her dedication and resilience, qualities that she embodied in all aspects of her life. Wanda was an avid fisherman, never missing the excitement of opening day. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her passion for gardening, where she found great joy in nurturing the earth and sharing the bounty of her harvest with her family. Her quick wit and warm smile were her trademarks, lighting up any room she entered. Wanda had an innate ability to bring laughter and joy to those around her, always ready with a joke and infusing life into every gathering. Her love for her family was boundless, and her presence was a constant source of strength and happiness. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Wanda's memory, in accordance with her family's wishes. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. A special thank you is extended to the dedicated medical team who ensured Wanda's comfort in her final days. Your compassion and care have been a blessing to us all. As we celebrate Wanda's life, we remember a woman who meant so much to so many. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire us.
