February 21, 1951 — April 10, 2026

Walter L. Jordan Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 10, 2026. Born on February 21, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, Walter was a beacon of love and wisdom to all who knew him. Walter was the cherished son of the late Maude and Walter L. Jordan Sr. He shared a profound bond with his parents, who instilled in him the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. Tragically, his journey through life also included the heartbreak of losing his daughter, Neisha Davis, and his grandson, Sidney Nallie II, who both preceded him in death. A proud alumnus of The Ohio State University, Walter carried his Buckeye pride throughout his life, passionately cheering on the OSU football team. His career spanned an impressive 35 years as an Engineer for Prince George’s County, where his dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on colleagues and the community alike. Walter's life was rich with relationships and contributions that extended beyond his professional achievements. He was a dedicated member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, where his leadership and camaraderie were felt deeply among his fraternity brothers. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was an active member of Ebenezer AME Church, where he found solace and joy in worship and service. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Jordan, who was his partner and confidant in all endeavors. Together, they raised a loving family, including their daughter, Nia Jordan (Nallie), who carries forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Walter's siblings, David Jordan and Lynne Jordan, shared countless memories and moments of laughter with him, forming an unbreakable familial bond. Walter's legacy is further cherished by his granddaughters Zahrah Jordan, Alaina Jordan, and Marlee Williams, and his grandsons Carl Green and Christopher Toles. His great-grandchildren, Zuri, Zereka, Zerese, and Mateo, were the apples of his eye, bringing immense joy to his later years. He also leaves behind his dear nieces, Allison Jordan and Whitney Jordan, who were like daughters to him. Known for his adventurous spirit, Walter had a deep love for travel, often exploring new places and cultures with his family by his side. These travels were more than just journeys across the globe; they were opportunities to bond, create memories, and share laughter with those he loved most. A private funeral ceremony will honor Walter's life, as requested by the family. However, friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate his life at a visitation on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at McPherson Funeral Services and Cremations P.A. A celebration of his life will follow on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A private interment will be held in his birthplace, Dayton, Ohio, at a later date for immediate family members. In this time of mourning, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. Walter L. Jordan Jr. will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering love for his family, and his enduring spirit. He may have left this world, but his legacy of compassion and strength will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we all find comfort in the memories we shared with this extraordinary man.
