It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Walter L. Jordan Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Walter departed this world unexpectedly at his home on April 10, 2026. He was 75 years old. Born on February 21, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, Walter was the cherished son of the late Maude and Walter L. Jordan Sr. He was a beacon of love and warmth, whose life was a testament to the joys of family, friendship, and community. Walter's academic journey led him to Ohio State University, where he graduated with a degree in engineering. His education laid the foundation for a remarkable 35-year career as an engineer with Prince George’s County. Walter's dedication and integrity in his profession were admired by colleagues and friends alike. A proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Walter was a man of principle and commitment. He was also an active member of Ebenezer AME Church, where his faith and service were a source of inspiration to many. Walter was a passionate fan of Ohio State University Football and found immense joy in traveling. His adventures took him to many corners of the world, yet his heart always found its greatest joy at home, surrounded by family. He treasured every moment spent with his beloved wife Cheryl, his daughter Nia, and his grand and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Cheryl, Walter leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughter Nia Jordan (Nallie), his brother David Jordan, and his sister Lynne Jordan. His pride and joy extended to his granddaughters Zahrah Jordan, Alaina Jordan, and Marlee Williams, grandsons Carl Green and Christopher Toles, and his great-grandchildren Zuri, Zereka, Zerese, and Mateo. Walter's family circle also includes his cherished nieces Allison Jordan and Whitney Jordan, along with a host of other family members and friends who will forever feel his absence. Walter was predeceased by his parents, his grandson Sidney Nallie II, and his daughter Neisha Davis. Though their absence was deeply felt, Walter's memory will be eternally cherished by those who now grieve his passing. A private funeral service will be held in Walter's honor. The family extends an invitation to join them for visitation on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at McPherson Funeral Services and Cremations, P.A. A celebration of Walter's life will follow on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Ebenezer AME Church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Private interment will take place in his birthplace, Dayton, Ohio. Walter L. Jordan Jr. will be remembered for his unwavering love, his kindness, and his enduring commitment to family and community. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
