It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Grant Robinson Junior, affectionately known as "Tiny," who left this world on August 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 13, 1948, in Richmond, Indiana, Walter was a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, wisdom, and dedication. Walter was a man who valued education, having graduated with a high school diploma and pursued some college studies. His career was marked by his commitment and hard work, managing apartments at Maple Street, before retiring as a maintenance worker and painter at Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was always infused with passion and care, reflecting his innate dedication to any task he undertook. A long-standing member and teacher at the Christ Temple Church in Oberlin, Walter's life was deeply intertwined with his faith and his passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. His wisdom and spiritual insight were guiding lights for many, and his quirky laugh and smile were infectious, leaving lasting impressions on everyone he met. Walter found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid gardener, a patient fisherman, loved spending time sitting on his porch, admiring nature, birdwatching, and his beloved truck. These hobbies were not just pastimes, but ways through which he connected with the world and found peace. Above all, Walter was a family man. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Walter “Grant” Robinson III, but his legacy continues through his children: Kristin Robinson Wooten, Mark (Chelonn) Robinson, Tracey (Ashley) Robinson, Ted Pickens, and Erika Heck. His love extended to his grandchildren: Mark Robinson Jr., MarSaun Robinson, MarChe Robinson, Omarion Miller, Emery Robinson, and Rayne Robinson, and his great-grandchild, Malani Pisarsly, MarChe's dear daughter. A service to honor Walter's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Carter’s Funeral Home, located at 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, OH 44055. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice, a gesture that aligns with Walter's generous spirit. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Western Reserve Ames House for their compassionate care.
