Walter "Danny" Blanchard

September 4, 1958 — June 18, 2026

Walter "Danny" Blanchard, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on September 4, 1958, in the warm embrace of Lakeland, Florida, Danny was the son of Frances and Margaret Blanchard, both of whom he now joins in eternal rest. Danny's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. After receiving an honorable medical discharge from the Army in 1976, his journey led him to a career that blended his passion and talent. As a chef, Danny found immense joy in the art of cooking, particularly when it came to preparing Italian dishes for his family. His kitchen was a sanctuary where the aroma of love and laughter intertwined, leaving a lasting imprint on all who gathered around his table. His dedication extended beyond the culinary world, as he also served as a security guard for Berkley Chapel in Auburndale. A devoted member of the church, Danny's presence was a comforting constant, offering warmth and protection to his community. In 1997, Danny found his lifelong partner in Debra Blanchard, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage and 29 years of companionship. Their union was a testament to enduring love, marked by shared dreams and mutual support. Together, they raised a beautiful family: their son Wayne Wade, with his wife Tory; daughters Lori Schmoll, with her husband Rich, and Jennifer Johnson, with her husband Chris. Danny's legacy lives on in his five grandchildren—Beth, Will, Mariska, Makyela, and Brantley—and two great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Kayden, each of whom he adored immensely. Danny's life was also enriched by his siblings, Dwight Blanchard, Robert Blanchard, and Margaret Moses, who stood by him through life's peaks and valleys. His family fondly remembers his boundless energy and inability to sit still, a testament to his hardworking nature and zest for life. When not in the kitchen, Danny could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, casting his line into tranquil waters, or with a paintbrush, capturing the beauty of the world around him on canvas. These hobbies were not just pastimes; they were expressions of his soul, shared generously with family and friends. As we celebrate Danny's life, we remember a man whose heart was immense, whose spirit was indomitable, and whose love was boundless. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A service honoring Danny's life will be held at Berkley Chapel, where his community will gather to celebrate a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Berkley Chapel in Danny's memory, supporting the community he cherished so deeply. Rest in peace, dear Danny. Your spirit will remain with us, guiding us through the days ahead, as we hold you forever in our hearts.
