Born on August 23, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana, Wallace was a beacon of strength and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Wallace was the cherished son of the late Wilbur and Essie Lean Lacy. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sheryl, his daughter Jenn Marie, his brother Edward, and his daughter-in-law Carmen. Wallace's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication, qualities he exemplified during his distinguished service in the United States Army. His commitment to his country was a source of immense pride for him and those who knew him.
A man of many passions, Wallace found joy and freedom in motorcycling, a hobby he pursued with enthusiasm throughout his life. The open road was his sanctuary, a place where he could reflect and find peace.
Wallace's family was his greatest treasure. He leaves behind his special friend and companion, Estella Woods, who brought joy and comfort to his life in recent years. Wallace is survived by his sons, Wallace Lacy Jr. (Carmen) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jimmy Sterban; his daughters, Nicole White (William) of Hope, Arkansas, and Novella Lacy of Miami, Florida. His siblings, John (Rose) of Hope, Arkansas, Joe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty Love (Dean) of South Bend, Indiana, Renee McKinney of Douglasville, Georgia, Yvette of South Bend, Indiana, Jacolynn Hoffman of Asheville, North Carolina, and April of South Bend, Indiana, will forever cherish the memories of their dear brother.
Wallace was a proud grandfather, adored by his grandchildren, Jamil Orange, Jamika Orange, Jazzmiere Orange, Khamara Lacy, Ethan Lacy, William White, Jr., Nicholas White, Christiana White, Na'tyja White, Jashawn Lacy, Thomas Whitaker, and Kamren Whitaker. His legacy will live on in their hearts, as they carry forward his values and spirit.
Though Wallace's journey on this earth has ended, the impact of his life and love will continue to resonate with all who knew him. His memory will be cherished by family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
