In Loving Memory

Walla Rous
March 20, 2011 — March 23, 2011
It is with a profound sense of loss and a deep well of love that we announce the passing of our beloved Walla Rous. Born on March 20, 2011, Walla graced this world for a brief but impactful three days, departing from our lives on March 23, 2011. Though her time with us was fleeting, her spirit and unique charm left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Walla entered the world in the most unexpected of places, a testament to her unique and whimsical nature—somewhere between "your mum" and "your dad," as she would have quipped. Her short journey ended in an equally surprising and adventurous manner, departing this world after a tumble from an iceberg that proved too challenging to overcome.
Cherished child of Bella and Cipe Rous, Walla was a beacon of joy and laughter. Her parents remember her not only as their beloved daughter but as a spirited soul who brought warmth and light into their lives. Though her time was brief, her legacy continues to shine brightly, much like the stars in the night sky.
Walla often surprised those around her with her boundless energy and her penchant for the unexpected. She was known for her love of throwing sticks with playful abandon, a skill she somehow managed to turn into a career of sorts, much to the amusement and bewilderment of everyone around her.
An avid fan of Star Wars, Walla was a proud member of the "Star Wars Fan Obsession Club," where she found joy not just in the stories of a galaxy far, far away, but in the camaraderie of fellow fans. Her love for the community was a testament to her ability to see the wonder in the world around her.
Walla's life was one of contradictions and surprises. She had a knack for sleeping in the most unexpected places, leaving those around her perpetually amused and slightly bewildered. Her unique approach to life was a reflection of her authenticity and her courage to be herself, a beautiful expression of her journey as a trans individual.
A service to celebrate Walla's life will be held on March 20, 2026, at 3:23 AM at The Ocean. For those who cannot attend in person, a livestream will be available at this link.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to "Get More Plastic In The Oceans (GMPITO)" in Walla's memory, a cause that, in its irony, reflects Walla's unique sense of humor. Donations can be made at this URL.
Walla's family leaves you with this special message: "It's not funny... Don't laugh." These words capture the essence of Walla's humor and the joy she brought to those around her.
Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the vibrant and joyful spirit that was Walla Rous. May her memory continue to inspire laughter and love in all of us.
