It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wai Ming, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and treasured soul, who departed this world on October 10, 2026, at Mackenzie Health Palliative Unit after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Wai Ming was born on May 19, 1950, in Hong Kong, China, and graced the lives of those around her for 76 wonderful years.
Wai Ming's life was a testament to resilience, warmth, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. Known for her gentle nature, caring heart, and a smile that could light up even the darkest of days, she was a beacon of kindness and compassion. Her presence was a gift and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Wai Ming was a true food lover. She found joy in exploring new cuisines and sharing meals with loved ones, often bringing people together around the dinner table with her culinary delights and infectious laughter.
Wai Ming is survived by her loving children, Keren Chan and Gary Chan, who were her pride and joy. She imparted her values of kindness, resilience, and love to them, ensuring her legacy will continue through the lives they lead.
In keeping with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Wai Ming's life. Her family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory, as a testament to her generous spirit and desire to help others.
Though Wai Ming's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will continue to inspire and guide us as we cherish the memories of a life beautifully lived.
