With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wade Careson McCain, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Wade peacefully departed this life on May 23, 2026, leaving behind an indelible legacy of love, laughter, and warmth. Born on April 28, 1951, in the charming town of Edgefield, South Carolina, Wade's journey through life was one marked by resilience, service, and joy.
Wade was the beloved son of the late John and Beatrice McCain. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and significant other, but his spirit continues to shine through the lives of those he touched. Wade is survived by his devoted daughter, Keenesha McCain Sanders, and two loving sons, Wade Rouse and Terry Rouse, who is married to Demetra. He also leaves behind a dear brother, Joseph McCain, and sister-in-law, Audrey, who will always treasure their memories together.
A proud veteran, Wade served his country with honor in the U.S. Army for four years, during which he also earned his general education degree, a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Following his military service, Wade embarked on a career as an auto mechanic, a profession that perfectly suited his love for cars and his exceptional problem-solving skills. Ever versatile, he wore several other hats throughout his career, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Music was Wade's passion, and he found immense joy in singing and playing the guitar and keyboard. His home was often filled with melodies that brought smiles to the faces of his family and friends. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Wade had a unique gift for making others laugh, brightening even the darkest of days.
Wade's family was his greatest pride and joy. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to one precious great-grandchild. His legacy of love and laughter will be carried on by each of them, as they cherish the wonderful memories they shared.
A celebration of Wade's life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Carey Hill Resource Center, located at 1590 Augusta Rd, N. Augusta, SC. Family, friends, and all who knew Wade are invited to join in honoring and remembering a life well-lived.
