Vonetta left this world at the age of 53, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home in Cincinnati, Ohio, after bravely battling a terrible disease. Vonetta was born on December 22, 1972, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the loving parents Jake and Brenda Hallums. Throughout her life, she embodied the values of love, compassion, and resilience that her parents instilled in her. She graduated from Piqua High School and pursued higher education at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned a master's degree. For over three decades, Vonetta dedicated her professional life to McDonald’s, where she excelled as a general manager. Her work was more than just a job; it was a testament to her unwavering commitment, tireless work ethic, and the genuine care she extended to both colleagues and customers. Vonetta's personal life was a tapestry of love and devotion. She shared 25 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Hanks. Together, they created a nurturing home in Cincinnati, where they raised four wonderful children: Jasmin, Shequila, Jamaica, and Daryl. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. Vonetta's warmth and kindness were legendary. Known for her quick wit, warm smile, and generous heart, she was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She possessed a selfless nature, always willing to give the shirt off her back to those in need. Her passion for shopping was only surpassed by her love for her family, especially her cherished grandchild, who brought her immense joy. In addition to her immediate family, Vonetta is survived by her siblings, Jackie, Latrice, and Robert, who were her lifelong confidants and friends. Her legacy of love and generosity will be carried on by all who were fortunate to know her. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff of Cincinnati for their compassionate care and support during Vonetta's final days. In honor of Vonetta's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. As we remember Vonetta, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness and love, honoring her memory by embodying the compassion she so effortlessly shared with the world. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. May Vonetta Hallums rest in eternal peace, her soul forever wrapped in the love she so generously gave.
