Vivian Perry

Vivian Perry, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family at a care facility. Born on December 14, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida, Vivian was the beloved daughter of Sam and Flossie Mainor. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Vivian's early years were spent in Woodbine, Georgia, where she graduated from Ralph Bunche High School in 1960. She pursued further education by attending Barber College in Jacksonville, Florida, and later studied at a Community College, where she earned her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her professional journey commenced as a barber on Florida Avenue, where her skill and friendly demeanor endeared her to her clients. Vivian's career path then led her to the Blue Moon grocery store, where she worked with dedication alongside Anthony Perry. Her compassionate nature later guided her into the healthcare field, where she served as a CNA at Wydam Lakes Retirement Home and provided home health care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease. Vivian's life was a testament to the love and devotion she held for her family and community. She was a good mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent in their company. Vivian is survived by her children, Sonya Thomas, St. Anthony Perry, Jr., and Sam Perry, as well as her grandchildren: Jennifer Knight (Maurice), Donald Brower, III (Alicia), Jasmine Brower, Sophia High (Tony), Samantha Perry, Iyana Perry, Jaxson Perry, and Evan Perry. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom. Vivian is also remembered by her loving siblings, Charlie Mainor (Annette), Sam Mainor (Barbara), and Harriett "Bunnie" Bennett (Arnold) of South Carolina, along with her extended family, including Joseph Motte (Giesla) of Missouri. Though predeceased by her husband Anthony Perry and her siblings Robert Mainor, Lucy Robinson, Delores Batts, Paul Mainor, and brother-in-law Thomas Robinson, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who survive her. A special thank you is extended to her nieces Ann Moses, Nikki Robinson, and Samantha Mainor, as well as her nephews Paul Mainor, Jr., and Keon Mainor, for their unwavering support and love. Vivian's family invites all who knew her to celebrate her life and legacy at a service on September 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be held at Holmes-Glover-Solomon, located at 4334 Brentwood Ave. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in her honor. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support and for joining them to honor Vivian's life. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her genuine kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
