Vivian Marion Long Travis

Vivian Marion Long Travis, born on November 16, 1941, in London, Ontario, left this world on September 29, 2026, in the same city she called home. She passed away suddenly in her 85th year, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
Vivian was the cherished daughter of Marion Grantham Long and Wilmer Long, who predeceased her, along with her beloved son, Scott Harris. She is survived by her devoted children, Cindy (Mark Spurr) Harris and Timothy (Lindsey) Harris, her precious grandchildren, Sophie and Adam Harris, and her dear sister, Lorraine Long. Vivian also leaves behind a host of first and second cousins who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
In 1960, Vivian married George Harris and began her journey as a devoted homemaker, raising her three children with love and care. Her life took a beautiful turn when she married her soulmate, Melvin Travis, on September 8, 1976. Together, they shared over 50 years of unwavering companionship, creating a home filled with joy and stability for their family.
An alumna of London Public Schools, Vivian was pursuing a career as a stenographer before dedicating herself to her family. She was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 50 years, a testament to her strength and resilience. Vivian’s passions included gardening, painting, and collecting fine jewelry, pursuits that brought her immense joy throughout her life.
Vivian's quick wit and warm smile were her trademarks. She had an extraordinary ability to uplift those around her with a joke or a kind word, making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her generosity and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A celebration of Vivian's life will be held on October 5, 2026, at 21:18, at Woodland Cemetery, located at 493 Springbank Dr, London, Ontario N6J1H3. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at McGarrell Place for their compassionate care during Vivian's final days—a kindness that will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Vivian’s memory. Her spirit of giving and compassion will continue through these acts of kindness.
