Vivian Marcella Jackson

Vivian Marcella Jackson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the Radiance Assisted Living Facility in Southaven, Mississippi. Born on October 9, 1940, in the quaint town of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, Vivian was the beloved daughter of Grover and Novie Gaskin. Her life, marked by love, laughter, and a steadfast faith, touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Vivian, fondly known as Marcella, was predeceased by her loving husband, Jesse Charles Jackson, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion that set a lasting example for their family. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Novie Gaskin, and her dear sisters, Wilma Bynum, Barbara Hamrick, and Pat Dobson. Vivian's legacy lives on through her four devoted sons: Thomas Charles Jackson (Terri), Jonathan Leslie Jackson (Leslie), William Scott Jackson (Edie), and Daniel Joseph Jackson (Jennifer). Her grandchildren, Whitney Jackson, Matt Jackson, Zach Tow, Lauren West, Natalie Cumbee, Gracie Jackson, Samantha Jackson, Brendan Jackson, Vivian Thompson, and Isabella Jackson, will always remember her warm embrace and wise words. Vivian was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and laughter. A graduate of Wynne High School in Arkansas, Vivian furthered her education at a business school, where she honed skills that would serve her well in her professional life. She spent her career in accounting roles, including serving as a dedicated church bookkeeper. Her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to her work were evident in everything she did. Vivian was a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she found solace and community. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and guidance. Known for her quick wit and candid personality, she had an extraordinary ability to bring light and laughter to any room. Her love for cats and passion for reading were just a few of the many interests that enriched her life. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Radiance Assisted Living Facility for their genuine and personal love and care, as well as to the team at Spring Valley Hospice for their unwavering support. A service to celebrate Vivian's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at Hernando Funeral Home, located at 2285 Hwy. 51 South, Hernando, MS 38632. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Vivian's honor. In remembering Vivian Marcella Jackson, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit that will forever inspire those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her legacy of love and warmth endures through her family and friends.
