Born on June 8, 1930, in the serene town of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Vivian was the beloved daughter of John and Lucille (Kimbrough) Way. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Douglas Way, first husband Mackey Williams Sr., second husband Thornton Logan, her son Mackey "Bookie" Williams, and granddaughter Tamara Maxine Williams. Despite these profound losses, Vivian's indomitable spirit shone brightly, a beacon of hope and inspiration for those she leaves behind. Vivian is survived by her devoted stepdaughter Janice Jones, and her beloved granddaughters, DeAndrea Michelle Williams-Stanton (Ronald Stanton), LaMonica Denette Williams (Victor Harper), and Adriana CharLynn Williams. Her granddaughters remember her as a guiding light, instilling in them the values of perseverance and grace. Although she did not have great-grandchildren, Vivian's legacy will continue through the many lives she touched and inspired. In her professional life, Vivian was a dedicated employee at General Motors, from which she retired after years of commendable service. Her work ethic and dedication were admired by colleagues and friends alike. A lifelong member of Greater Grace Church in Detroit, Michigan, Vivian found solace and joy within her church community. Her faith was unwavering and provided her with a foundation of strength and compassion. Known for her love of travel, Vivian embarked on countless adventures with her friends and church family, exploring the world with an insatiable curiosity and appreciation for life's wonders. Vivian was celebrated for her strong and independent spirit. Her flair for fashion was legendary, and she was renowned for her fabulous hats, which perfectly complemented her elegant ensembles. Her sense of style was a reflection of her vibrant personality and zest for life. A celebration of Vivian's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple, located at 22401 Grand River Ave. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared their love through cards, flowers, and well wishes during this time.
