In Loving Memory

Vivan Elaine Williams
June 20, 1950 — August 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Vivan Elaine Williams, who departed this world on August 2, 2026. Born on June 20, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, Vivan left us after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Vivan was the beloved daughter of Beulah Elizabeth Williams and Melvin Andrew Fowler, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her cherished brothers, Carl, Donald, and Harold Williams; her dear sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Melva Johnson, and Marian Traynham; and her treasured grandson, William Jacobs.
Vivan is survived by her devoted spouse, Maurice Hunter, and her loving daughter, Caroline Williams. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kearna Jacobs, Ciara Dorsey, and Evelyn Evans, as well as her ten great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Vivan was a proud graduate of Baltimore City Public School, where she received her high school diploma. She dedicated over twenty years of her career to the Social Security Administration before retiring. Her heart for service shone brightly as she volunteered to serve food to the homeless alongside a friend. She later contributed her administrative skills at the Vulcan Blazers for the Baltimore City Fire Department Union.
Family was Vivan's greatest love and joy. She cherished daily conversations with her siblings and was especially fond of her FaceTime calls with Zion and Anthony, lovingly nicknamed "Yummy." These moments, along with family gatherings featuring her favorite Maryland crabs, were the highlights of her life.
Even in retirement, Vivan found pleasure in the simple joys of life. Whether she was engrossed in her favorite TV shows or cheering passionately for her beloved Ravens, Vivan's vibrant spirit was a constant source of inspiration. She found peace and reflection gazing out of her favorite window, savoring the beauty of the world around her.
Vivan's unwavering love and dedication to her family will forever be remembered. Her laughter, stories, and the warmth of her presence provided comfort and joy, especially during life's most challenging times. Her family and friends will always treasure the moments shared with her and the profound love she extended to all.
A service to celebrate Vivan's life will be held on August 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Vulcan Blazers, located at 2811 Druid Park Dr, Baltimore, MD 21215. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Vivan's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her spirit of giving and compassion.
Vivan Elaine Williams was a beacon of love and resilience. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
