Virjean Spears, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, departed this world on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on June 5, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Gilbert and Mary Hillsboro, Virjean was a beacon of warmth and generosity to all who knew her.
For 40 dedicated years, Virjean served as an office manager at Fuller Brush, where her commitment and professionalism left a lasting impression. Upon retiring, she devoted her life to her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she was an active member of the First Baptist Church for three decades. Virjean led the choir with grace and taught Bible studies to children, sharing her faith and wisdom with the next generation.
Virjean's life was enriched by her love for gardening. Her vegetable garden was a testament to her nurturing nature and her joy in sharing its bounty with neighbors, whom she also blessed with her companionship and support. Known for her quick wit and warm smile, Virjean had a remarkable ability to bring light into any room. Her jokes and infectious laughter could uplift spirits and create an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. She had an innate gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued, a testament to her kindness and generosity that touched countless lives.
Virjean is survived by her devoted son, Mark Spears, and her nine treasured grandchildren: Justin Erisman, Stephani Harris, Dylan Berry, Kimberly Spears, Kendra Spears, Kristen Spears, Andrew Berry, Tyler Berry, and Steve Billingsley. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless.
In honor of Virjean’s life and her spirit of giving, the family kindly suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice. This gesture reflects Virjean's belief in supporting others and making a difference in the world.
