It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Virginia Rhea Aubrey Harvey, who peacefully departed this world on March 20, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on March 16, 1931, in the warm embrace of her family home in Mount Lebanon, Louisiana, Virginia was a beacon of love, resilience, and grace throughout her remarkable journey.
Virginia was the cherished daughter of Leighton Hackney Aubrey and Polly Horton, who instilled in her the values of compassion and dedication that she carried throughout her life. She was also the beloved sister of Charles Alton Aubrey, who predeceased her and whom she held dear in her memories.
In the vibrant tapestry of her life, Virginia found her greatest joy in her family. She shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Donald Earl Harvey of Waco, Texas, whose love was her steadfast anchor until his passing. Together, they nurtured a family rooted in love and mutual respect, creating a legacy that will endure through the generations.
Virginia is survived by her loving daughter, Dona Len Harvey Ivy, and her husband Robert Lee Ivy, as well as her devoted son, John Leighton Harvey, and his wife Kathleen Harvey. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the foundation upon which her children built their own lives, always carrying forward her lessons of kindness and strength.
She was the proud grandmother to two adoring grandchildren, Travis Cortney Ivy and Aubrey Shannon Ivy Bishop, who will forever cherish her wisdom and affection. Virginia's legacy of love extends further through her four precious great-granddaughters: Zalie Klair Ivy, Liberty Rhea Ivy, Quinn Breelyn Ivy, and Lucy Claudine Beatrice Bishop. Each child brought immeasurable joy to her heart, and she delighted in watching them grow, always offering her gentle guidance and unconditional love.
Virginia's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and kindness, a place where friends and family gathered to share laughter, stories, and the simple joys of life. Her hospitality was legendary, her door always open to those in need of comfort and companionship.
In her professional life, Virginia contributed to her community with the same dedication and integrity that defined her personal relationships. Though her career paths were varied, her commitment to excellence and her genuine care for others were unfaltering.
As we bid farewell to Virginia, we celebrate a life that was rich in love and filled with purpose. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends.
